This game is all about grinding. You have to play the same battle hundreds of times to unlock new levels for your Pokemon. That's far too boring. The gameplay is shallow, only one type of resistance/weakness and always the same tactics. And the menu could be better, navigating in it is okay but slow when you want to check, change or upgrade your team and Pokemon.

If you're a very late newbie like I am, the amount of content available may be quite overwhelming. I also don't like how they stuff your pockets with the basic currency and level up items way more than you know what to do with. The characters are rendered and animated very well, at least. The stories vary from intriguing to plotless, but it's fun if there are characters you really like.

Overall a very fun passtime ! Of course it's PTW like most any mobile game, but at least you can purchase the ingame stuff without spending real money without feeling very hindered. The music is absolutely boppin', and graphics are as good as the upcoming Pokémon game for the switch (unfortunately). I appreciate being able to speed up dialogue and battles, and skip dialogue and animations, as it speeds up the game a lot.
